Creating an mp3 database

I'd like to create an mp3 database for personal use, which in itself is not a problem, but I'm trying to find a way to avoid having to input all the data from scratch. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Regards,
Chris P

Database? What about a player like iTunes (it's free) which arranges all your music into artist & album & arranges songs via track no. (tag info.) Am I on the wrong track here?

Hi LotR, thanks for the suggestion.

I did a Google and the first link I checked sounded just the job, iTunes Catalog, then I noticed that there isn't a Windows version. :( I checked again and found the main iTunes site, but that doesn't cater for other Windows versions, and I'm still using ME.

Perhaps I'd better do some more searching, but thanks for pointing me in the direction - I wasn't even aware of the product's existence, (You're right, I don't get out much!)

All the best,
Chris P

WinAmp has a playlist function.
I can't remember though if the playlist remains after you're done listening to stuff and close the application.

Thanks for the suggestion murasame, but it doesn't look too hopeful. I had a look earlier and couldn't find any mention of any print facility. It seems quite a good product on the face of it, so it's a shame.

I have found several mp3 database apps that sound just the job. I've got them whittled down to two possibles, and then it will be a question of which one doesn't crash my system. I'll report back if anyone's interested.

All the best,
Chris P

There's these ones: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....search=+Go%21+ but unfortunately they're all shareware. And the same with these: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....search=+Go%21+

Try that site & keep searching & you might find what you're looking for. ;) :)

Thanks again LotR, I'm working my way through the list, plus a few others I found.

I'm getting side-tracked by following murasame's earlier advice, because I downloaded WinAmp. I love it, and there's so much to read and learn - I should have been in bed hours ago!

I'm working my way through all the available plug-ins, perhaps I might even find what I'm looking for.

All the best,
Chris P

Solution to my problem.

I found a great solution to my problem. A piece of software called MP3 Collector Pro from Collectorz.com , It does all I wanted and a lot more too. I found another package with the same or similar name (freeware), but that crashed my system before I could even try it.

It's so unusual to find a useful program that does all you want from the moment of first install - so for the moment at least, I'm really contented.

All the best,
Chris P
