Same problem here

I've got the same problem with just a few of the files I've downloaded. They're .mp3 files. They DO play with Realplayer. But with Windows Media Player, they either 1) "play" without sound, or 2) don't play & there's an error message.

Can't figure out what to do with these. Tried downloading other instances of the same files, but have had the same problem.

I'm using the free Limewire version 4.10.9; OS is XP home edition with all MS updates.

Anyone have any ideas about what's going wrong here or how to fix/deal with it?

Thanks!

Check for WMP codecs at MS. Also consider alternate players. There's plenty of decent ones around. Think outside of the square. lol :D

CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

Some other decent players: 1. dBpowerAMP, - 2. WinAmp, - 3. Quintessential (QCD), - 4. iTunes

problem

thank you but i want to know how do this inside LW
bye

If you're refering to the icons, then that should change after you change the default. You cannot change this within LW. It's a system default issue. If you change it to VLC then you may or may not need to re-open LW before it takes effect.
