Cant click on anything!!

Hey all,

Ive never had a problem with Limewire till recently, the problem is that I will start Limewire and it will start up fine, but when it comes to the tip of the day, or question to upgrade I can only x out the boxes and cant click on either of the options it gives me. Then it also does not allow me to click on anything, It will highlight different areas, like it will highlight File, or view, or help, at the top of the screen, even the different categories to search in. But when I try to click on any of those things it does not open them it just leaves them highlighted. So it basically highlights everything but wont let me interact with it, the only things it will is the X, and minimize and enlarge buttons in the corner.

Thx in advance!!

I would reinstall the latest java http://www.java.com and get the latest video card drivers. If that doesn't work also try to reinstall LW.

Bonne chance

Ok so I tried reinstalling Java, deleted it off my drive and reinstalled it from the Java website. Then I also got the latest video drivers, and reinstalled limewire for the millionth time. And still doesnt work, I really dont know what to do.

Well it's a display issue, so it's most likely to be the video card. Can you revert the video card driver to an older version to see if it is the problem?

Ciao

Tried 3 different drivers and none of them worked one was real old too. So I dont think its the driver any other ideas??

Also on the drivers I just reinstalled them since I could find no way to uninstall nvidia drivers.

Don't know, never had this issue and I moslty use a mac anyway...

Killroth March 28th, 2005 03:44 PM

Is there anyway to get older versions of Limewire??

Lord of the Rings March 28th, 2005 04:19 PM

See what's available here: http://www9.limewire.com:82/download/ Older versions are taken out of action if they have bugs or are not good for the Gnetwork.

Killroth March 28th, 2005 06:02 PM

I tried the older version but it didnt work either so I think it has something more to do with Java then anything else. Cause I cant even click on items in the Java options. So ytou think it would be Java? Cause wouldnt a video problem cause problems over other programs??

Lord of the Rings March 28th, 2005 06:08 PM

For some reason one version of Java works better for some than others ... you coud try jumping back to 1.4.2: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html (Choose the JRE) but not sure if that's the answer for you. Sounds like you need the latest!

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

When you open LW, Control, Alt & Delete keys & go to Process Manager & see how many times Limewire is listed.

How much ram do you have?
How much spare HDD do you have?
What type & model graphic card?
