Files acting strangely in Incomplete Folder I deleted all of the files in my incomplete folder using Limewire, and, when I look in the Library tab, it says that nothing is in the incomplete folder. But there are a couple files there, and when I try to delete them, Windows makes the error beep sound, and when I try to look at their properties, it says that "Properties cannot be accessed for this item." I can't rename or move them either -- but explorer says that they still account to some size on my HD. I was wondering what these files were, if they ACTUALLY take up space on my HD, and how I could remove them? Thanks in advance. |
What you are seeing is the downloads.bak and downloads.dat files. These 2 files will always be in your incomplete folder. Those files are what keeps track of your downloads and there progress. If you delete these files all your downloads will start back from 0%, when you start LimeWire. LimeWire will also create new files with these names to store the needed information in. |
No, I know what the downloads.bak and .dat files are. I am talking about four additional files, that cannot be deleted or anything. |

Hmmm first do you have administrative priviliges for the user account you are trying to do this from. If you do then try starting your comp. in safe made, and delete them that way. I would also suggest running any aniti-virus program you have installed just to be on the safe side. |
That worked perfectly! Thanks a lot! |
