Default Connecting forever

Hiya! I am having problems connecting to the server, seems to be common however I have yet to see an answer which works for me.
My problem is that it keeps saying 'connecting' but never does, I have noticed in the connection window I average about 10 different isp numbers which all time out and dissapear after 10 seconds. My Router is a Prestige 600 series and I taken the firewall off. I have opend the correct port and my software firewall allows Limewire to access the internet and act as a server. I am running J2SE 5.0 update 1.

Any help would be super great as I have never had this kind of problem with Soulseek, Kazaa, File Donkey or Supa Nova. I was assured this program was great and so far it has been pretty bad.

Many thanks

Black

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www.grc.com/port_6346.htm (Press Probe this port button) Is port 6346 open or not?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
11. Do you try to connect using LW whilst you're using the other p2p programs?

12. When you said you have opened the correct port, what do you mean? Did you forward a port on your modem/router?
