need help please!!!! hello, I'm somewhat new to computers and I use limewire. I had not had any problems like this till today. I use windows media player. When I double click on a downloaded song it would go straight to windows media player, also the icon next to the songs in the search had a WMP icon next to them. Today when I did my search all the icons came up as iTunes, and when I double clicked on the downloaded songs it whent straight to iTunes. I dont like to use iTunes and want to put it back on my WMP. Can someone explain how I do this? thank yo Lizzie |
your default application for that file type has been changed. To change it back follow the instructions in this link. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...lt+application |
Hey Fabion, I looked at the link you gave me. but it looks diff from what I need... its my "Spyware" program detecting it |
I already checked out that link and I am lost. My computer doesnt look anything like what is being shown. I went into my folder and can open it with wmp, but I dont realy know how to burn songs like that. What I usualy do is download a song, double click on it and it opens up in wmp, then I put it on a playlist and burn it, now when i double click on it it opens up with iTunes, how do I change it back to media player? also, before when I downloaded a song the wmp icon was next to it, now its iTunes? If I was to start useing the folders to make playlist and stuff I think I would have to deleate everything in there and start over because I have so many songs downloaded and they are in random places it would take me for ever to organize them. One other thing is I heard that maybe winamp would be better that wmp, is this true, and if I downloaded it would I have the same problem? I am useing windows xp sp2 if this makes a difference. thank you oh, i'm also very new to limewire/computers so some of the instructions may as well be in chinese LOL. Could you maybe suggest an easier one to use? |
Hi godundastandzme What windows version are you using Hi HorrorFreakNY have no idea what you are talking about. I never put any link in your post, and have no idea what caused your problem. |
hey, I,m useing winows xp sp2 home edition, but I think I figured it out. I whent into the control panel/set program access and defaults, and changed my media player back to wmp as the default player and it seemed to work. I just wonder why it was ever changed in the first place, Im the only one who uses this computer. Also I mention in the last post about winamp, do you suggest this as opposed to wmp? is it better, and if I was to download it how would I get it to be my default media player? thanks for your help. I don't use winamp, but I have read it is a good player. You would set it the same way you set WMP as your default application for that file type. I believe several members here use it, and prefer it over WMP. |
