Renaming Files with the same name Hallo I have a problem with downloading 2 or more files with the same filename. If I start 2 or more downloads with the same filename LimeWire saves the the first file normal. But when the second file is finished LimeWire overwrites the fist file. Other programs just rename the file by putting '(1)' behind the original name. Is there an option to make LimeWire to rename the the files and not overwrite them? Thanks for your help. goldenboy |
I might be wrong here but I thought LW did also. What LW would normally do is ask you if you wish to overwrite the file of the same filename. There's also an option on this window when it asks you whether to always use this answer. You might have ticked it. So what you can try is go to Tools>Options>View>Popups & tick option to Revert to default & press apply button. If that doesn't fix it then perhaps you're right. |
Thats right LW ask when if it should be overwrite the old file. But only if an file with the same name allready is on my HD. If you chose 'yes' LW overwrites it, if you chose 'no' LW wonn't start the download. If I start 2 or more files with the same name, without having a file of this name on my HD, LW starts all the downloads and overwrites with all new finished download the old one. sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand what i mean. goldenboy |
