Why can't I fast foward?

I'm using LimeWire Basic and whenever I play a song I can't fastfoward or scan through it? Why is this?

Because the LimeWire player doesn't have those functions.

Use your systems default player. In LW tools>options>player --- uncheck the box --- click apply then okay ---- you will need to close and restart LW for the change to take effect.
