I have a problem with storing my files and playlists

Firstly, some of my files are stored in "sharing" and others just in "saved files." How do I put all teh files in "sharing"? I want them all together.

Secondly, when I put the tracks into playlists and reopen the playlists sometimes they are blank and sometimes they aren't blank and I don't know what I'm doing differently.

Oh! Thirdly, when I try burning the tracks onto a CD they only sometimes work which leaves me with wasted blank CDs.

I just need some simple instructions and I know these problems have probably been answered somewhere before but I tried seacrching and it takes so long and I'm doing my GCSEs so don't have much time and want to know all the songs of bands I like that are playing at Reading Festoval.

My usual method is to click random buttons (which I feel I am better at than my dad) and see what happens. This however usually makes things go wrong and that is probably why my pc is so slow and crash-prone now.

Please help... :)

Lets see if i can help you.
You have a folder on your desktop that is a shortcut for all your downloads to go into? Called "Saved" or "Shared"? Do this, (hopefully you running windows xp) Start\MyComputer\Local Disk(C)\Programs\Limewire\ now find the folder called Shared. If you can't or don't see it, make a new folder and call it Shared. Ater doing so, right click on the new Shared folder and "Send To" desktop as a shortcut. Open up your Limewire and do this: click on Tools\Options\Saving. In the Saving Directory, make the directory read: C:\ProgramFiles\Limewire\Shared. Click Apply then Ok. Your set on that part.
What program are you using to burn to your music to cd-r's?

erm, i did that but now the files that were in the 'saved' file have gone and been replaced with the ones that are already in the 'shared' file, they are now in the 'incomplete files'. i use ahead nero burning cd thingy.

I've worked out that I can move the files one by one to the 'shared' folder but is there any way I can do this quickly so that they all can move in one easy sweep?

Littlesong89 June 13th, 2005 07:38 AM

I tried copying the whole 'incomplete' folder to the 'shared' one and it just put the folder within the 'shared' one, rather than individual tracks...

OK, so i managed to copy all the files into the 'shared' folder by high-lighting them all. However now they have wierd numbers and letters befor the band name and title, like T-9310208-22. How do i remove the number so I can have them in order?

Plus, the tracks still don't show up in the 'shared' folder in limewire, only when I go to my computer etc.

i did something and now the files are still in 'incomplete files' and not in shared... i think i'll stop messing with it now.
