Limewire default player for audio files

Can somebody help me?
I've been racking my brains trying to think of how to fix a problem with my i-tunes.
I need to change the settings so that my limewire isn't the default player for audio files, so that I can make i-tunes the default player and therefore automatically add them to my library once played.

Please help? :D

Which ooperating system are you using, mac or windows?
It shouldn't be necessary. iTunes will accept almost all mp3's. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36230 about how to get them into iTunes.

If you really want to change the files' default then see Setting Default video app & apply the same idea except using mp3, m4a, etc.

I'm using windows.
Ok, I just thought that rather than having to drag songs I download into my i-Tunes library that I could make i-Tunes the default player for all of my songs and therefore automatically add them to the library like say winamp does.
I'm not sure if i-Tunes can do this but I thought it would be handy if it could. Seeing as though when I double click a song in lime wire it plays through lime wire I thought that it must have been the default player for audio files.

My i-Tunes is set to be the default player but it doesn't work that way when I play from limewire.

While you're here :P Helping me, I have a folder in my i-Tunes that is titled" limewire tunes" and it has all of the songs that I download from limewire in it.
Is there any way that I can get the songs that I download into limewire to automaticall sync with my i-Tunes library and simply add the recently downloaded songs, rather than having to drag them one by one if i-Tunes could just update itself according to new files added to the "limewire tunes"

Sorry for the loooong reply and confusion if I have caused any :P

When I do what is suggested in that other thread, "files, add folder to library" it adds all of the songs in that file rather than just ones that aren;t already in my i-Tunes library

The list of LW songs in iTunes is simply a playlist. The songs themselves don't exist within iTunes's Music Library which is what you want. So there are various techniques to get the songs into iTunes. By the sounds of it you either didn't understand the techniques described in the above link I gave you or you didn't read thru it. (Oh & just because LW's playlist is in iTunes, don't confuse with thinking the songs exist in iTunes Music Library & then delete the songs. Remember that is simply a playlist which points to the location of the songs which is in your LW downld folder.) You need to add them but see the many techniques from the link above.

You can add them directly from LW's Library window if you want to. Just drag & drop into iTunes library.

The reason LW's media player plays when you play a song from LW is that you have the LW player enabled. If you'd prefer to disable it so your default player (iTunes) plays them instead, then go to your LW menu Tools>Options>Player & untick option box & press apply. However this won't take effect until next time you open LW.

No I did understand all of the techniques listed in the link you provided me with.
I just thought that there might have been a way that I could add a folder to my i-Tunes library (the folder which I download to) and have it automatically update and sync with i-Tunes everytime I download a new song, rather than having to drag and drop from LM into i-Tunes every time I download a new song.

I only thought this was possible because with the program I use for my MD it does this, you choose which folders your songs are put into and add them to the library and then everytime you open the program the folder and library has been updated with new songs that you've downloaded.

I don't have a problem getting songs into i-tunes I just thought there was a quicker way that's all.
Thanks for your help.
