Hi jaxed20

your best help would probably come from this link: http://www.videohelp.com/

Nero is a good burning application, you might think about d/l the manuals from there website. They are easy to use and understand.

lord.....my reply

Ok, in response to your previous reply, this is what I am doing and I hope you can see where I am going wrong. Firstly, I download on lw, then I click on explore on the download which opens up all my shared files. I then click on Divx convertor and drag and drop the file into this. the convertion process takes forever! Once done it is stored in the Divx movie folder. I go on Nero Smart Start and click on the DVD tab at the top between the HD burn and CD tab. I then click on "photo and video" which has only one icon to click on. This then brings up a second screen onto which I can try to drag and drop from teh Divx folder. This screen says "Nero Express" "DVD video files" "Add your DVD video files to the VIDEO_TS folder". This is where it goes wrong, I try to drag and drop and it says it's incompatible. I am a bit confused what a plug-in is and when I get one which one do i get and how does it work with my existing Nero package if I need one at all. Thanks Jax

A plug-in is an xtra mini program that the main program may call upon if needed. In this case we're refering to CODECs.

Why not skip the DivX & instead do your converting using Nero. Someone mentioned to me that Nero is unable to burn DivX due to it being a copyright format. (However there may be a divx burner I don't know!)

I only have Nero 5 so my very limited knowledge is somewhat reached. The image below shows Nero burning rom & Nero Express. I was able to drag & drop an avi file to both. Nero does the conversion. (But that's for VCD!)

The problem with VCDs is that the file I want to burn is larger than 700mb...so it won't work :(

jaxed20 try TMPG (click on link) as it's supposed to be able to convert DivX & there's a trial period for the free version. See if it works for you. Read the feedback/user comments for that link. I've heard it's very good (besides that site.)
