converting avi files to bup, vob or ifo?

Thanks agian to Lord of the rings, a real star. can you help with how I convert my downloaded avi files (video) to a format that NERO can burn onto DVD. The nero program says that it requires the files to be wither bup, vob or ifo?!!!

Yeah, Lord of the Rings or another user, can you help us find a converter that works on Nero Vision to burn on DVD? Also, can you help us find a format that works on most DVD players (so I can watch on TV?)

Also...Windows Media, Quicktime, and Nero Showtime can't play it because of a codec they can't read....can i get some help on that please?
