Scan Result From MS Antispyware Can anyone tell me why Microsoft's Antispyware has detected the following? http://home.swbell.net/jshollis/cydoor.jpg |
Strange Result jshollis This is a strage result because I use MS AntiSpyware everyday and I have never come across a result like that. I have some questions that may help understand your problem: 1) Where did you get your copy of LW from? 2) What version of LW are you using? 3) Are you a windows user? 4) Do you download dll's from the P2P network? MS Antispyware I have some questions that may help understand your problem: 1) Where did you get your copy of LW from? Limewire.com 2) What version of LW are you using? 4.8.1 3) Are you a windows user? Yes.. XP 4) Do you download dll's from the P2P network? No |
jshollis Apart from the fact I use LWPro 4.8.1 and you use basic, you are using the same system as I am and I have never come across this "Cydoor" adware or "CBanner2.dll". If you got your LW Basic from another site I would have said that they must of stuffed your copy with this crap (CBanner2.dll) adware. However, you said you got your LW Basic from Limewire.com. I've got to ask this, are you sure you got your LW from the official site? Post the URL link you used so we can have a quick look. UK Bob |
MS Spyware UK Bob, I downloaded it here http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...loadfree.shtml It looks like 4.9 is out. I will run another scan and see what happens. |
jshollis I can't fault your URL but, I must admit, it is not the one I would recommend. However, as you have said, the new LW is out and I have just downloaded LWPro 4.9.11. I will give it a run through later on, once I've done the boring stuff like paying bills, etc. UK Bob |
