I have got the exact same problem.
Every time I shut down LimeWire it automatically restarts.
I've overlooked all the options and any option that makes LimeWire automatically restart or connect is disabled.
Does anybody have a clue what the reason is for this annoying occurance?

Thanks.

It's due to either of 2 reasons:

1. Go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Advanced>System startup & untick option & press apply.

2. You have a virus! See the Sticky at the top of this section & you'll find a link to your answers.

OK here's a direct link: LimeWire continually Popping up every few seconds & also Opening at System Startup

Um there is another possibility which I thought was only a problem for macs ... If any items are left in the Monitor, Or download window on MacOSX Limewire will not close properly, if settings are made to shutdown after transers. I would not encourage anyone to change this option but that area might be worth a look. If that makes sense!
