Higher Dl speed and better search engine with pro 4.8.1?

YEAH, RIGHT!
I naturally bought the pro upgrade, since i like movies,
and dl speed is crucial when it comes to movies about 700 Mb's.
A more precice search engine would also come in handy, i thought.
Well,- here's the search result for a Steve Martin movie from 2003:
And as for dl speeds,- well; i have set my conn. speed to T1,
since i've got a DSL connection of 2 Gb/ 500 Mb's max.
Still i'm typically downloading from 3 hosts at a total speed of 1 Kb/s!
I don't think that's too impressive, and it's NOT suited for dl movies.
And i have tried dl through the Peer-web site,- about 25 different movies.
Yes,- the LW window opens and the search begins, and ends!
I always get the message: "could not dl. Not enough sources".
All in all, i'm not very pleased with Limewire for the time being.

What your image doesn't show is the sources vendor. The slowest downlds tend to come from Shareaza (RAZA) b/c raza works on more than one network & often only offers a pittance for uplding for the gnutella network. You can right-click the top of the column to show vendor/version of source.

This might help: See the following link & follow all the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to help solve your problem: To continue files downlding (click on link)

Thanks a lot, m8.
I tried the "repeat search-trick", and that really did help a lot!
- It triggered/forced the dl process to continue!
But still i think the search results are a bit funny.
They contain absolutely none of the key words,
and have absolutely nothing to do with my search what so ever.:D

I did the same search and took 2003 off the end of it . You might try using less key words in your search.

Thanks to you too, grandpa.
I just tried that, and got 2 hits.: The complete file, and a part 2.
I'll try dl the complete file now. Thanks again, my friend.
Respect and regards from Norway.

i recommend updateing to the latest stable release 4.9.11, or the beta 4.9.16.

So,- what you're saying is that people shouldn't upgrade from 4.9.11 to pro?

ultracross August 6th, 2005 11:34 PM

it doesnt matter which, basic or pro, updates and versions are the same for both. the pro version just gives you 20% more results compared to the basic and its speed constants are increased alot. but the main code in both versions are the same. if you have pro, update to the latest version, if you have basic, update to the latest version. do i have to spell that out?

Reminds me of another post HA HA HA HA

First of all; Thanks. I've updated to 4.9.11 pro now.
When i first bought pro, it was version 4.8.1, even though i upgraded from basic 4.9.11,- that's the reason for the misunderstanding.
(I said this in my first post in the tread).
Second; There's no need to be rude. We don't all have English as our native language, and misunderstandings do happen, you know.
