Issue

I have the new Limewire, and it ran fine for a while but now, (I think it might be because I deleted that .limewire file) I did that soon after I downloaded limewire and now all it does is run for a minute or two and than freeze, and everytime I re-open it it makes me re-enter my settings. What's the problem?

Am I the only one with this problem.

.limewire is the LW preferences folder. It is called this in windows, linux (I think), & mac classic (OS8-9). After deleting the preferences folder then yes, you need to reset LW's options as soon as you open the program.

See Fix for opening Limewire "Fatal Error Message" & Fixes for Limewire

Thanks for the help, but no luck. I tried both and it's still the same. I need to find a way to get rid of everything limewire and start from scratch but I don't eant to have to rebuild my computer as I have about 50 gig of stuff I need that I don't have anywhere else to put.

To uninstall from windows, open the blind, then open the window to let out the bad smell, go to Start menu >Programs>LW>Uninstall

(Don't forget to take a deep breath as you do so!)

BTW there's a new beta out ... 4.9.17 which sounds promising. It might be worth checking out! ;)

LOL

whenever I tried to delete anyhing I usually got a message that you might have to manually delete one or two files, and that was kind of what was in the back of my mind

Oh and I sussed out the smilies. but you can see I would get in a right panic over anything more technical than that.

I've done this, but every time I re-install it there is the same problem, it's not the program since it's something no one else has the same problem. And Limewire still remembers my old downloads and such.

I think I narrowed down the problem. sort of.......... It now freezes the dl screen, and it stops them from downloading but does not update it, just freezes it, I'm still able to search and use the rest of limewire which isn't useful unless I can download........... so with these new symptoms whats the problem, the green bars are full too, although it takes them a minute longer than it used too.
