Could it be your school is blocking p2p?

I have DSL and I use the ethernet cable instead of USB and I can download songs. Sometimes businesses and schools block certain programs out so people won't use the school/business internet for that kind of personal use. If the computer you're using is your own then you may want to get your own internet connection so you can use it for whatever you wish.:)
