Formatting computer
 

I have some big files (600mb) that are almost ready. They took me a couple of months to get them to 70-80%. Now my dad tells me to reinstall my computer. This means completely formatting all drives.

I do have the oppurtunity to back up those files on dvd-rw. But will I be able to resume these downloads are the complete format of my computer?

Backup the entire incomplete folder. This folder has not only your incomplete files but also your downld.dat & .bak files which are your downld preferences. Without those files your incomplete files are almost worthless. After re-installing LW, set up the LW main preferences after you open it. Then CLOSE it down. Then totally replace the incomplete folder with the older incomplete folder. Then re-open LW. So it should work. Get back to us to tell us how it goes & if it was successful. But make sure LW is totally closed before you replace the incomplete folder. Even go to the task manager to make sure it's disappeared from the list. Replacing whilst LW is still active will cause problems & will probably corrupt the downld prefs of the older incomplete preferences.
