I use a firewall (Norton Personal Firewall 2005) with my LW Pro 4.9.30 and I have not had any speed problems whatsoever. However, I do have a 2MB broadband connection and I regularly get speeds anywhere from 5kbs to 350kbs (perhaps a bit more), depending on whether I'm downloading from a modem or cable client.

Mind you, the firewall has be to configured properly to let LW and Java connect to the internet as and when they want to.

Heartless Bob

Sorry Rough

Some guys around here call me heartless Bob cause I can be a bit rough on newbies.

Go to this forums Home Page and search the LW stickies plus read your firewall's manual on how best to configure you firewall.

Besides, if you do the reasearch yourself you will learn and appreciate what you have done.
