Question Application Error

Limewire seems to dowload and install OK but when I try to run it from the desktop I get:

'The instruction at "0x77fcc415" referenced in memory at "0x007bd5" could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program'

The log file of the current date and time that seems to be generated on my hard drive by clicking CANCEL is not in a format I understand. I have uninstalled, rebooted, downloaded and installed a number of times and the same error comes up. Sometimes when I run Limewire from the end of the install process it runs, but if I close it and try to reopen it I get this same application error. This error started appearing when I upgraded to version 4.9.30. I installed a current version of JAVA, 1.5.0_04 to no avail. This is with the Basic version of Limewire. If I was sure buying the Pro version would make this problem go away I would do it. I do not want to use
Morpheus or Kazaa.
