Limewire freezes

Hello,

I was wondering what sort of advice you guys could give me concerning the ultra-slow performance of my Limewire client.

I am running Limewire v4.9.30 on top of Java 2 runtime, Std Ed v1.4.2_09, under Windows XP, and am experiencing slow performance from the client. It doesn't seem to be affecting the P2P connection in itself (rates are acceptable), however, it makes it almost impossible to perform simple actions such as to open a menu! It is the user interface component I am having issues with and, quite frankly, it is driving me crazy in frustration over not being able to do anything about it.

I have previously tried installing Java runtime v5.0 Update 4 and yet no improvements were noticed -- meanwhile I reverted back to v1.4.2, as v5.0 of the runtime seems to be suffering from issues.

My system is an Acer laptop 1694WLMi, w/ 2GHz 586M, ATI Mobility X700 128MB VRAM, and 1GB RAM.

I desperately need help!!

We have a desktop computer and we've also had the same problem as you. A few people have had this problem actually. If you have an older version you may want to reinstall it.:) I reinstalled 4.9.28 and we've never had that problem since.

That's strange...

I'm using Limewire 4.9.30 Pro. Has anyone had any issues with this version?

Thanks!
