LimeWire 1.7c puts a Bonzi Buddy icon on your desktop???

Iīm a bit worried.

I installed Limewire 1.7c today, and discovered that it apparently placed aĻ"Download Bonzi Buddy FREE!!!" icon on my desktop. That seems a departure from what I had thought LimeWireīs position was on such things.

I see no mention of it here except for your post. Anyone else getting this now? It must be Limewire that did it. I know it wasnīt there before. AND the timestamp of the shortcut is the exact same for both the Limewire desktop icon and the Bonzi Buddy one.

Whatīs up with thi? We going to see more of this? I donīt so much mind deleting an icon, I just get a bit nervous when they donīt ask me, and donīt tell me they do it. Many of us use Limewire because it has had no spyware. So, this makes me uncomfortable about the future of my using Limewire.

Installation prob. - bonzi shortcut

Getting error message "unable to create bonzi shortcut", then installation aborts.

Searched my comp and found no bonzi buddy program, also nothing immediately recognisable on Add/Remove Programs in control panel.

Any ideas????

Thanks

Install Java and Limewire separately

Goto java.sun.com and download JRE and then download the ~600kb Limewire for java. No installation. No problems. No annoying bonzibuddy. :-)

It places that icon on your desktop, but it doesn't install it.
