Deleted Music Files

Okay, I know this has been posted before, but I have some more questions.

I downloaded Limewire, and all of my music files were in the library. I didn't want them all, and I decided that it'd be easier to just clear them all, and re add the ones I wanted. I selected them all and hit delete, thinking the worst case scenario would be that they were sent to the recycle bin, and I could easily restore them. Weeeeell, I was wrong (duh), and I lost them ALL.

When you hit delete in Limewire, where are the files sent, if not the recycle bin? I tried using system restore, but when I clicked on it, it said that system restore wasn't turned on, and asked if I wanted to turn it on. I don't know enough about system restore to know if I can still do anything about it, but I doubt it.

When I searched the forums, there were a few links to a program called... Uh, I think it was something like, PC Doctor File Recovery? Anyway, when I clicked on the link, download.com said that the page wasn't there. I also searched for the program at download.com and it didn't have any results.

Is there ANYTHING I can do? I really need those files back, because they weren't mine, and the person who owns them is going to FLIP when they find out.

:( Any suggestions?

Why would you ever delete somebody else's property even if you thought you could get them back. Have you ever heard of Murphy's Law , What ever can go wrong will go wrong.

Any way there is another thread about this the link below will take you there the person that started it got there files back but they did not say how they did it. You might want to PM them and ask them how they did it.

And by the way you kind of contradicted your first statement with your last statement.

Well, in most programs, when you hit delete inside the program, it doesn't erase it from your computer. Normally, it just clears it from the library. And it didn't even send it to the recycle bin, it just got rid of it all together.

I just asked for help. You didn't have to go out of your way to make me feel like a jackass.

But thanks for replying, though.

EDIT: And when I say I didn't want all those files, I meant because some of them were just useless incomplete downloads that were scattered throughout the entire library, and I didn't feel like having to go through and clear each individual one.

Grandpa ... I think you must be one of few long time users who has not managed to delete things from the Library shared folders. I did and it was only a few, fortunately.

But every time this question comes up I wonder why that stupid option was ever put on Limewire, and I think anyone who succeeds in deleting there precious files through a piece of bloody awful design deserves a lot more sympathy then all the idiots who buy Lifetime membership of Limewire from Scamsrus. com.

The odd thing is that I do not have the option anymore, but I gather from all the posts on the subject that everyone else does ... Is that true!!!!!

GP you know it's nothing personal:) I just feel I have to rant about this once in a while.
