Arrow limewire takes aaages to load

why does limewire take ages to load. it used to work absoloutely fine. it just uses 100 cpu and takes up lots of memory. it used to work fine, but now its messed up. i downloaded the latest version, just today and i uninstalled java and reinstalled it.

i can use other web java games and things, just not limewire!

i've got a athlon xp running at 2.17 ghz and 512 meg of memory with sp2

what seems to be the problem?

LW 4.9 certainly loads faster than 4.8 did. You might consider changing your java version. One reason your LW is taking longer to load is 1. a greater amount of incomplete files. 2. a greater amount of shared files.

You may or may not be interested in this: Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! Doing so will certainly freshen up LW. Another possibility it deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire as that can also have a freshening up effect on LW sometimes.
