Can't Open LimeWire Within the past few weeks I have noticed a big annoyance. ( I think it is only when I download more files then normal, but it never happened before ), but Limewire will either (if I have it open) turn to a grey screen, and I cannot do anything at all, or when I just have it running "in the backround" and I wish to open it throught the task bar it won't open. The only way to allow me to open it again is to end the program through windows task manager. Then I have to reopen LimeWire wich then it has to find all new sources for my downloads and it takes for ever. So why can't I open it ... thanks .. EDIT - Its not a big deal that I can't open it, but I do not think that my downloads are downloading in this state, because I had it on for about 1 hour, and when I closed it and opened it the dowloaded were at the same they were and hour ago, and they had about 9 hosts, so I don't think that were qued ... Also, I am runing LimeWire Pro 4.9.23, Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2. |
I'm having the exact same problem, I posted it earlier and I was just completely ignored. I've tried tons of different things and nothing has worked yet and the Limewire team doesn't even have the courtesy to say "We Don't Know what to do" so we can stop checking back here everyday. And you're downloads will keep going because I usually just turn it on and leave and when I come back my downloads are usually done, or atleast higher than before. But you're right it is extremely irritating having to retstart it and get new sources. |
Ok Helltech I've figured it out. Or atleast I believe I do, I've been working since my last post and i think i may have figured it out, and it's simple. Start Limewire and go into options, Restore Default Settings then disconnect and reconnect and it should be running fine. That's all I did and it's been going good for over an hour. No gray screen, no freezing, no nothing. |
Thanks, but that didnt work, and in my case, my downloads DO NOT keep going. So its a diffrent problem. |
