Default need help virus busting

After downloading some music I noticed my saved file programs folder is full of a bunch of jar and exe files. I don't know what these are . I tried to delete, it won't let me because it's in use by another program. I uninstalled and reinstalled limewire. I did a virus scan and cleaned out 12 viruses. Now I'm still trying to delete these files from my lw folders and I can't get rid of them. Are these viruses gonna reinfect my pc? Are they viruses? Any suggestions?

Default Virus!

It's covered in the stickys at the top of the forum, you should read through them. Here's a link to the one on viruses: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

Advice given in the link above. The page has links to solutions. You may need another AV program such as AVG

Ok guys. Thanks for all the info, even though my head is spinning. I installed MS antispyware. Removed 2 . I already use Panda AV. Removed 5 viruses. I wonder if those were reinfections after I reinstalled LW. I uninstalled LW again, and now that I am scanned I am afraid to install again only to have that folder still there. My shared folder was full of a bunch of shizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzIT! What do I do now? If I reinstall, how do I get rid of those files? They wouldn't allow me to delete them. Thanks again for all your help.

I wouldn't reinstall LW until your sure your pc is clean. Start your pc and as it is booting up press F8 and select to run in safe mode and hit enter. Run your AV a couple of times and see if it comes up with anything. Also if you know where the bogus files are you can delete them, but those files aren't the actual virus. The virus is putting those files on your pc so they will be spread throughout the network.

Refer to the link in my previous post for removing the virus. Good luck

Ok. I've followed your diections. I think I am ready to reinstall LW. So should I expect not to see those files in my library? Will they be active or what? Don't worry about them? I also deleted LW from my c drive. Is that what you are talking about when you say if you know where they are? I don't know where the bogus files themselves are. Thanks a bunch.

On your desktop click on Start, then click on my computer, then double click "local disk (C) then double click Documents and Settings, then doublle click "your user name(kellya127), then double click "shared".

And all your shared files should be there.
Delete the jar and exe files, that way your not sharing them.
Re install limewire and if you've gotten rid of the virus you should be ok.
