Problem with Real Player

Hello....Please help

All my Audio & Video files show as being Real player files even when some have been downloaded as Windows.
I currently have Windows Media player as my default player.
I have changed the default player to Real player and back to Windows but it makes no difference. Searches now show all files as Real player as aposed so showing both types as it did previously.

Anyone got any ideas as how to sort out the problem?

Many thanks

Twaddy

Someone just asked me about this less than an hour ago. It seems RP is a very aggressively demanding that it be the default program for everything. Check your preferences/options within RP & see if there's any options within re: setting of default icons, etc.

Also, choose your file types & individually make them the default of WMP. eg: select an avi file, change that to all be always opened by wmp. Then choose an mpg file & do the same. You can do this with mp3 files also. See tips on this here Setting Default video app / Setting default audio program
