Paid For Pro, Can"t Download Or Use It I'm running LimeWire4.8.1. I bought the pro package when I made my initial purchase. The version that I downloaded isn't pro, and when I go to download the pro version, the link (and all the links) is screwed up, it can't open in a browser. It prepends c:\programfiles\limewire to the link, and then opens it up in my default text editor. Anybody know if there is any email support? I don't want to waste my time and dime with phone support. It says I can cancel within 7 days, but doesn't show **** for where to do that. Should have waited until the product had some maturity before purchasing. Ah, well, live and learn. |
If you have a phone number for support, I very much fear that you may have purchased a scam "subscription" to Limewire, as Limewire can not be reached by 'phone. Neither does Limewire offer a 7 day trial period. Go to www.limewire.com to see the only place to obtain Limewire. The Basic is Free and pro costs US$ 18.88 and is valid for 6 months. This thread might explain a bit of the Scam site problem. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=40161 It would be interesting to know what link you are using to try to obtain pro. |
:mad:I just downloaded EMule but got limewire instead. I already have limewire. I just paid $47.29 US cash for a program I already have. I was trying to get Limewire Pro! |
Gantor Which site was that? AS I said www.limewire.com is the only place to get Limewire pro from |
Paid for Limewire Twice To: Only a Hobo,I was trying to download Emule. Not knowing that Emule sends you to Limewire. I've had Limewire for awhile now.So, I went to the "Get Limewire Pro" screen after I noticed the problem and got pro for $18.88. I just hope Limewire will see that I don't need a new account and all I wanted was to upgrade to pro and not charge me the $47 that it said I would pay. Thanks Only a Hobo ,for taking time to view my concern in this matter.:) :D |
If possible and it is still in a timely fashion, try to get your 47.00 back. Contact your credit card company and file for a stop payment. |
I suspect you went to the wrong site .. Googling gave me. emule-downoading.com which is easily recognisable as a scam site as is the more attractive and identical, I think, Free-emule.com where you also have to pay! emule.com is something totally irrelevant but interesting for fans of the British Royal Family and emule-project.net(4th on the list) looks like the correct site. It is easy to see how people can be tricked into going to the wrong site, and the scammers no doubt have skills to con Google into putting them at the top of the list. They may even pay them ???? I suspect Emule-project would NOT have sent you Limewire! If you paid 18.88 for Limewire pro you will not find any other amount charged. I would however in adition to Deacon's advise suggest you cancel the credit card, as who knows what else the scammers might take off it. |
