Deleted files

Hi I've deleted my downloaded files by mistake.

Yeah i know what you're thinking. what a dumbo!!!!

Is there a way i can find these files back? they are not in the recycle bin. I've deleted them from the LimeWire library.

Next time you'll know better. They by-pass the recycle bin.

If you have windows XP then see System restore for deleted files

Otherwise you'll need a file recovery utility such as Norton. A free one is here: PC Inspector File Recovery (click on link) But in the meantime, stop doing anything that is writing to the HDD. Stop using LW until you recover the files.

Acually the best recovery program is Restoration

very small program that can recover a thousand of file you deleted from your recycle bin, it can recover the file up to 5 passes deletion. this program will take your breath away

many tech savvy suggest this program. plus it got a great editor and user rating....

LOTR I am given to understand that the windows XP recovery system only works on things deleted by Windows Explorer, so will not have any special benefits for files deleted by Limewire

Limewirer Restoration looks good .... They never make these things for Mac Tho' :(

Domino My total Sympathy, and I shall repeat what I've said 1000 times and will continue to do so until someone gives an comrehensible answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHY is there apparently a Delete Shared Files feature in everybody's Limewires other than mine, and what earthly good does it do???????????????????
There is not even as far as I can remember a Warning Message!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for showing me that LOTR ... but it doesn't answer the rest of my point. I don't have this feature thankfully but it seems every one else has. Have the developers made a note of my ip number and made sure ~I got a delete free version as I was being such a pain in the ^&$% about it:D
+ which ... why is the feature there in the first place?

Should be this row of buttons at bottom of share window in Library window: Launch - Delete - Describe... - Resume

I made a request for a better warning system some months back (before the forum upgrade.) Changes to Delete function in LW Library or at least send to recycle bin 1st.

LOTR All is now clear! It has never even ocurred to me to delete files from there, but now you have pointed it out, I will probably delete my entire share tomorrow. In the good old days, including 4.8.1 which I am currently giving an airing to, just to see if it is really better than the recent models, and I can't see any difference, it is possible to go to the File option and not only disconnect but alter shared files and delete them. And that was actually what I was talking about. and as I recall there is no warning when deleting from the file menu, and I'm not about to check it to find out:D

Yes I complained about this too, and a change was promised, and delivered, but only, I at last realise, for the file menu, not the bottom buttons. And I imagine if someone is using the Limewire player, it is VERY easy still to make a mistake, and I may have this wrong, but people might think they are deleting a song from their playlist rather than from life as we know it..... I'm not sure, as I have the player dissabled, but it sounds like another good reason to not use the Limewire player:)

I likewise have the player disabled & thus no playlist window. I have read of at least a couple of people admitting they thought they were deleting from the playlist.
