Lost.......... Ok, I'm sure this problem's been seen before, but I can't seem to solve it. On 2 different computers, after tryin to install 4.9, Limewire starts, then part way through startup, it just shuts down. I've had a similar prolem before, but usually I've just had to remove and reinstall Java. Not this time....... I've tried diffferent versions of Java and Limewire and both Pro and basic, but no luck. Tried removing B].limewire[/B] from the directory etc. etc. but no luck. HELP!!! TIA R... |
try to use a older version of LimeWire, to get a older version, go to this site http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml anf find LimeWire there |
Ok, I'll try that for sure, but I had 4.8 Pro running flawlessly one of the machines before I tried 4.9 and now, nothing........ R... |

I think so too.......... But I don't know where to go with it....... I've removed and reinstalled different versions of it also, but no luck. Rick |
uninstall Java then remove .java folder from your Documents and Settings then reinstall it |
No luck. I even tried removing all and doing system restore and reinstalled Limewire and Java, but nope????? R... |
what about .limewire too? |
I'ver lost track of how many times I've deleted .limewire. I'm sure the prob is going to end up being something simple, but it sure is starting to pi** me off. Ah, well, nothing like an unsolveable to get us thinking! R... |
Ok, can you install FrostWire? FrostWire is a clone of LimeWire |
I don't know.......... I'll try and find it and try. R... |
Nope, Frostwire niether. How strange.......... 2 computers, two programs and nothing wll work! it must be Java or something, but darned if I can figure it out! R... |
I wonder........... Is there any way to "test" Java to ensure there isn't a problem with the way it loads, runs etc?? Anyone??? TIA R... |
