LimeWire Pro or Basic

Hey, I'm currently a LimeWire Basic User and I was just really wondering whether or not it is worth upgrading to pro or not.
I have a 10mb conection but because of the sources most of the downloads I get are usually only going at speeds of 7kb/s on a good day. Most of the time it's for Tv shows and the likes that I've missed becuase of the hours I work but All I Really need to know is if it is WORTH upgrading, if it will increase the speed of my downloads as my current situation is very frustrating.
Anyones opinions of the differences between pro and basic are mroe than Welcome.
Cheers.

Pro will not make a vastly dramatic improvment. You should really look at ways to improve what you have, but remember that you can have the fastest connection in the world, but your speed will be governed by the slower user at the other end. A lot of the downloads I get come in around 7kb/s and for big files that can be frustrating. ..... so .... I live by my motto:)

Hey thanks for the help, your advice has helped me getting to know more about LimeWire but there has been no significant improvements with downloads. I don't expect my downloads would go incredibly fast with pro, but I thought that having more sources available may help, depending on whether or not they have the files I'm looking for.
Thanks for the help in anycase, and btw cool motto:)

This might help http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...339#post172339 for general use of LW.

For faster downloads change your port settings to 80.

Go to the tools menu in limewire and select options.
You get a new window, in this double click on advanced then firewall config.
You need to change the Listen on Port to 80 and use manual port forwarding and change this to 80.

If you want LW pro but are unsure if it will make any difference...

Simply search for it, if you notice a difference then support the cause by paying a small fee.

Best regards

I really would not recommend searching for and downloading Pro from the net the odds are not in your favor for getting a clean version of Pro. LimeWire is a open source code and any hacker can put anything they want in a pirated copy of it.

If you feel lucky you can go for it but be aware it may contain spyware, viruses, or be corrupt in some way.

As far as will your DL be faster it all depends it sounds like you are probably DL rare files and there may not be very many sources for but yes I have found that Pro will find more sources for most files thus giving better DL speeds especially on rare files.

With popular files it really doesn't make much difference because there are usually plenty of available sources.
