download history hi i am new to lime wire and this forum, please could someone tell me if it is possible to delete the download history eg, when i have previously downloaded a file and then do a search for the same/similar file it remembers the files that i have downloaded by showing a green tick, is there any kind of log file in the program folder that i can just delete? i have searched the forum and read a previouse post and reply but didn't realy awnser the question. thanks for any help |
Why do you want to re-downld an identical file to the one you've already downlded? If LW sees it as having been previously downlded, then it will be the same file. It will be same size, same contents, same hash, etc. You can still re-downld a file that has the green tick. But if the other copy of the file remains in your downld folder, then LW will give a warning about whether you want to overwrite it or not, or rename it. |
i just wanted to know if it was possible to delete the download history! is that not a good enough reason?, i do not wish to download the same file but sometimes i have searched for a perticular file/mp3 and have seen that some, let's say adult veiwing type material with a simaler name has been previousely downloaded by me, then someone else who uses my computer might find out that what i have been watching, catch my drift! |
If you shut down LW it will erase the history you have to delete the file for the green checks to go away but sometimes it takes LW alittle while to catch up with itself. |
On top of what 6_pac said, the file must be moved out of the downld folder before the change in status also. |
thanks for the info will give it a go and see what happens,:) |
