I recently downloaded some WMA protected DRM files and I had to download a licence so I could play them on the PC, which I did and they played fine.
Unfortunately I had to restore my system back a couple of weeks, but before I did I copied the WMA files onto a DVD disk as data, thinking that when I restored my system I would then be able to play them on it, however that was not to be as when I click on any of the WMA files I am then taken as before to a web site asking me to download a licence as it did previously, but this time instead of it automatically playing the site message informed me that the licence could not be downloaded. and a message to say -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The license cannot be downloaded because the license has already been downloaded 10 times. Which of course is wrong because I did not download it 10 times at all.
It looks like to me that I won't be able to play any protected WMA files ever on my computer now that I have lost the licence, as it appears that there is only 1 licence that you need to have downloaded before you can play the protected material.
By the way I did not back up the licence I had downloaded the first time, which of course has caused this problem.
Is there any way round this?
