video file won't play i downloaded a video file (mpeg) and tried to play it. the picture doesn't show in windows media player, but the audio comes through. what should i do? thanks |
You probably need to download the right codecs to play that file. XP Codec Pack 1.3.0 is supposed to be a good one for WMP. You could also d/l another media player. VLC media player is a good one that has the codecs built in and will play most file types. Go to this thread for more on info: CODECs list for Movies /Alternate players / Video help forums |
Thanks very much for eevryone who replied. It's done the trick ! Cheers ! |
thank you too! |
playing avi I cannot play anything but mpg files which really limits me. I did click on the link recommended is it safe because my computer says publisher not identified, I get easily scared downloading |
Which one are you refering to? VLC has apparently been falsely identified by some AV programs at the download point. But VLC is clean. We wouldn't recommend it otherwise. ;) |
okay thanks i appreciate the help |
