Default v1.8 doesn't start up on win2K

Sorry if this was already posted? Didn't see anything in the FAQ

LimeWire v1.8 doesn't fully start up on my win2K machine??

- I get the splash screen, and the app's window appears...
- then, it closes and disappears.
- ...It may take several more seconds for the limewire icon to disappear from the systme tray (bottom right)

help??

Cheers

Default same problem

it starts fine for me, as long as I don't use ad-aware to remove three spyware files that get installed with limewire (even when I said not to install both the spyware programs). Interesting how, if you use ad-aware, you can also see that 1.8 installs three spyware registry entries each time it starts up.

Angry

I had the same problem on my Win2K Advanced Server. It installs fine but has exactly the same symptoms as mentioned above.

I don't remember if I removed gator but most likely I did.

Default i've run into the same prob, maybe this will help

look in your limewire directory for a small text file that contains dump info from the java virtual machine crashing. Apparently the latest JVMs are buggy, I have the same problelm with other java apps on Win2000. Report the bug to sun if so.
