Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

Use Control-Alt-Delete keys & open Task manager. If you see LW listed, force it to close. Then start the installation process. The installer will normally uninstall any previous version (LW 4.4 or higher) at the beginning of the installation process.

If there's still problems, get back to this thread & explain what they are & we'll go from there.
