That's a simple reference to how much video time you might fit onto a video at the lowest conversion qualities. If you're not worried about the quality of your videos then you can fit a few hours of video onto a dvd-5 format dvd disk (4.7 GB) or almost double that on a dvd-8 format disk (8.5 GB). It's normally recommended to keep 4.7 GB dvd videos less than 150 mins or at least less than 3 hrs.

I don't know the software you're using so I can't explain how. Actually I don't think you said which burner software you're using.

I think you'd be better to visit a dvd burning forum or info page, rather than I try to explain in a single posting. How much you can fit onto a dvd disk depends on ... the length of the video, the bit-rate the video was converted to, the format of the audio (eg: PCM/Dolby Digital ac-3), the bit-rate of the audio, the sample rate of the audio, how many menus, how complex the menus are (eg: include video or audio), whether menus are multi-language, how many multi-layer audio tracks are used, how many multi-layer video tracks are used (better known as angles), whether subtitles are used, etc.

Are you aware that the newer dvd players can also play divx & wmv; ie: burnt as data disks or get your burner to convert. Roxio can & I presume Nero can also.

To have more than one video on a dvd, you'd have them as separate tracks. Though you could also join them.
