Watching movies

Over the last few days, something has changed on my limewire. When I try watching some movies, the media program opens then this dialog comes up saying (I copided and pasted it):

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

I don't get it though. It only happens to some of my movies. And I did update my media prgram a few weeks ago. Did that possibly cause it?

I have another idea might solve the idea, i dont know if it will work though (you tell me). How do you change the program you open the films with. Because I also have quicktime.

Please answer. It would really make me happy!

WMP does not supply all the necessary codecs to play all files. You need to find & get them yourself. Or use alternative players. I'd recommend VLC as it has its own in-built codecs & is generally very reliable. See CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

If the file is an MP4, use VLC or the DIVX player. (i noticed that the MP4 is starting to be used more frequently for the ipod video player.) I recommend looking for the DIVX AVI compatible files. (Download the divx player to play them.)
