Format PC

I want to start over with my PC. I found a webpage on how to do it, but I can't find much info on my specific problem, and was hoping that someone here might know a little about it or some good links

I am curently running a double booted system (Windows XP Pro 2002 and Windows XP Home MCE 2005) and I want to install only XP Pro.

1. I was wondering if there is any difference in the newer versions of XP Pro, that updates + service packs won't take care of ? Would I benefit in getting a newer version ?

2. I have some pretty cool features that came preinstalled on my PC. (It's a Toshiba Qosmio F10 - 136 widescreen laptop) One being some TV recording programs that is especially made for the Qosmio models. Does any one here know of any problems I might run into If I only install Pro ?

I would prefer to just keep the home edition if it wasn't for the networking issue, and I can't run both + programmes and other stuff. I am simply running out of space with my 40+40 GB harddisks, and a external would both be too costly and too impractical

I would really appriciate any feedback that would help me on my way (personal experiances or links or just anything that you would feel is relevant for me to know before I do it
