When I launched Limewire pro, some kind of automatic update process for Java began. I accidentally clicked the wrong button when Norton Internet Securty was asking for permission to allow this internet connection. I think I have permanently locked out automatic update of Java. How do I find the rule I accidentally created, so I can enable it again?

Another way to ask the question -- what ports does the java automatic update need open so it will work?

I can't answer your other questions, but you can downld Java from here Java 1.5 (take the JRE) & choose the "Offline" installer version. It's more reliable.
