Need help with 'avi' files

Hi; need help; I have downloaded several items on Lime Wire under 'video' that have the 'avi' extension---BUT---when I try to play them all I get is sound & no video in my Windows Media Player; how do I get them to play BOTH the video AND the sound?; thanks
