Getting LImewire to download songs

I've downlaoded limeire onto my system and its installed fine, i even can search songs but when i try to click on a song to download it, it does not respond, almost as if im not even clicking on it at all, but i click on a number of songs trying to download them and the only thing that it iwll do it is high light it. And even when i use the download icon at the bottom, that wont work for me either. So im not even sure what it might be is it an issue with limewire or is it an issue with Windows. By the way im using win xp, system specs 3000 amd 2.5 gigs of memory wireless keyboard and mouse logitech is the brand. If any other infor is need please ask. Thanks in advance to all who try to help me with this problem.
