Limewire NOT WORKING...

OK, after the issue of having a blank screen when I open limwire to fill in my Language options, but the screen being blank, ive gone back to 1.4.2 Java, and it kind of works.

Now, Ive put in all the settings I want, but when I open Limewire, it gives me a grey screen, and I cant move my mouse for about 10 minutes. Finally I End the task... and it happens over and over again.

Ive got a fast laptop (Dell XPS by Dell), and it runs on my brothers crap desktop downstairs, so why not on here? I've no firewall, i disabled all auto spyware etc. protection. I have no clue.

Please can someone tell me what to do in step-by step instruction, as I am one of those simple-minded folk.

Thankyou :)

Hmm, two suggestions:

1st. Try to delete the .limewire preference folder when LW is completely closed (means, also in the system tray). Follow the link for explanaitions on how to do this (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire):

2nd. Try to uninstall LW and ALL Java versions you've installed. Then download the JRE offline installer from the official Java website. Install it and reinstall LW:

Then post back on your results.........;)

Done that.

Still not working.

I have an nVidia graphics card - 6800 ULTRA with the XPS... something to do with that?
