Yes, the full install will probably work better :)

Strange that Nero can't play something VLC can. The only files that I haven't been able to play in Nero 7 are some special .bin and .cue files which I never found out what format they were. It plays pretty much anything I think. Might be some codec issue on your PC.

mPlayer is the only player I know of that can sync audio and video + can adjust color, brightness and contrast. Don't know why I don't just use it as default. Maybe controls are a bit too complecated for my taste. You need to use the keyboard for everything (It's Linux based) I just double-click a file and Nero pops up. BTW Nero does not preview well. I have to copy the incomplete file and then fix the file to be able to preview.
