Port Blocking

My sister has been causing problems with my home network by running LimeWire constantly with multiple (large) downloads at once. I have talked to her on several occasions, but that did nothing to help these problems. I am using a Linksys Wireless Router and I am trying to block the port(s) to LimeWire so that my sister can no longer connect to it. I blocked 6346, and tested it on my computer and LimeWire connected instantly, so obviously that didn't work.

My 2 questions are. 1. What ports do I block to prevent LimeWire from connecting? 2. What port can I set for my usage? (She isn't smart enough to figure out how to change the port to connect to.)

Thanks

Disable UPnP on your router and block 6346 then your sister will come to the forum and ask for help. We will then reply and tell her how to set up the router and she will fix it. Then she will know how. But until she comes here that should block her.:D

Thanks, but I already did that, and it still connects.

Unless I made a mistake, Port Filtering is the same as Blocking on Linksys routers right?

Why not change her LW settings. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Speed & change setting to Modem & disable Ultrapeer capabilities. Then go to Options>Downlds & change speed to 95% of that which will be about 6.9 KB/s. And Options>Uploads>Basic & move slider to about 75%. This should give you plenty more bandwidth for your purposes & also allow her to do her thing.
