limewire not loading!!! need help
 

when i go to load limewire the loading screen come up with the huge lime and says loading resorces, loading HTML engin, loading user interface and then it just disappears:mad: . i havent loaded anything new onto my computer but i do have McAfee which might be causing this. does anyone know what i can do to fix this?????
i have the basic version
and it worked like a 2 weeks ago

Try these things:
1. use your add/remove control panel to remove Java.
2. Downld the "Offline" Java 1.5 which is a 15 MB downld & install it: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)
3. Delete LW's preferences folder; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)
4. Try re-opening LW.

now it says limewire was unable to load

Does your McAfee have antispyware protection as well (sorry for the ignorance, I don't use McAfee!!)? If so, make sure LW is on the list of exceptions/allowed apps. Or try disabling it just for a while, see if LW will load then.

i tryed disabling mcafee and LW still wont run
and in order to put LW on the list thing i have to be able to open it

Sorry, I'm a bit stumped then. You deleted your old Java versions before you reinstalled Java, right? And you've reinstalled LW? Both with the offline installers?

You could try deleting your preferences folder once more,keep McAfee disabled & see if it makes any difference. You could try changing compatibility, point 5 in LOTR's fixes for LW link in his earlier post.
