Program Crashes even after java reinstall
 

Hello, for awhile now I have been having problems with my LimeWire(v4.12.3) crashing after the loading splash. It usually seems to crash when it says "Loading Digital Audio Access Protocol" at the bottom of the window. I have followed all the "guides" and have reinstalled Java and LimeWire multiple times and have even tried both 1.4 and 1.5(update 7) versions of Java. I have also deleted the .limewire and application data/limewire folders too. I have also tried using FrostWire, but it does the same thing. Although Azureus uses Java and seems to work fine. This is also happening on my laptop. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I had a very similar issue, i followed some instructions from the forum and cant remember where. In general i had to down load both Java and limewire to my desk top (do not load from site) delete the lime wire folder, uninstall java all versions and uninstall limewire, disconect from internet and load both again. it worked until my daughter put a new skin on then did the same. i went through it all again no new skin and working fine.

I have tried this and still no luck :( :confused:

Any other ideas? Do I need to find an earlier java update version (I currently have 1.5 Update 7)?

Did you uninstall all java updates as well. I use J2SE runtime environment 5 update 7 from link below. This was an issue for me.

Well I found a download for Java version 1.5 Update 6 which is what I have on one of my other comps where limewire runs fine and now it's working. I don't know if something is wrong with Update 7 or not... but it works. Anyways, thanks for your help.
