Limewire and systray

I cant minimize limewire to the systray, when i hit the X button on the window limewire just close, i have reinstall limewire and java many times, can anybody help me?

I'm not a main windows user, but i thought you click the - button to minimise it. And press X to close it.

well I usually pressed the x button and Limewire used to minimize to tray but it just left doing that, the - button still minimizes Limewire but i want to know how to minimize it to a small icon next to the clock (that's the systray)

I don't know, is that related to your shutdown settings? LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>System Tray

JoanMex July 16th, 2006 01:15 PM

yeah i´ve already checked that and is ticked the option to minimize to tray which is the thing LW dont do anymore any suggestion?

It worked for me when I pressed the X button. Mine was already set to minimise

If all else fails, try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) But make a note of important settings. Next time you start LW, you'll need to reset your options. ;)

same problem

I just upgraded to 4.12.3 and im having the same problem with it not being able to minmize.. it just shuts the program down.. its not hiding either.. it completely shuts down, along with it not launching my windows media player!! Lets fix the bugs guys

I've just thought about it. Go and right click on your system tray (not pointing at anything special) then go to properties and then "Customize". Check whether LW is hiding when inactive (you need to have LW open to do so).
That could be the reason why you don't see it, though it might still be active working.
