Limewire crash

Hi there people, seen many threads on this this topic but no none seem to help, so i thought i'd put my troubles amongst u all to see if its a gen prog fault.

Iv'e used limewire for around a year and upgraded to pro..........worked fine a little faster etc reasonably satisfied. Then i had the flashing" A NEW UPGRADE IS AVAILABLE". So i checked it out and as my pro was less than 6 months old it was free. Now when i'm downloading it freezes and will not respond will not close unless i use the computer bible ctrl, alt, del.Are many of you useing 4.12.3 getting this same problem?

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Also consider Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! for files that are zero % or less than 20 KB.

I have just about the same problem! I have had Limewire Pro for about 4 months with no problem, until the update. Now, even though I have tried the Point #2 & 3 fixes for limewire and uninstalled and reinstalled Java and Limewire Pro 4 or 5 times, I still am unable to use it. It loads, opens and as soon as I move the mouse or click on a key on the keyboard it instantly closes. If I do nothing, I get everything loaded and get my turbo connection like before. Can't even type in a search!! I am getting frustrated to the point of deleting the whole works and saying *&^%$ it!! No help from Limewire tech support either - just the usual "check out the FAQs and help page" crap.
Is there any help available?

Limewire freezes

I have this issue, in 4.12.3, where when left alone, minimized, or just not the active window, limewire freezes up when downloading. When swapping back to the application, the window comes back blank, and the app needs to be killed from task manager to close it. This was fixed TEMPORARILY only by Lord of the Rings suggestion to delete the LW preferences. It worked for a couple of days with no problem, then the behavior returned.. :( :( :(
