I need help (completed file problem)

I have been dowloading many video files over the past few weeks, and throught out them almost 3/4 share a problem. The videos I dowloaded are all 100mb and up, therefore they should have a substantial legnth. When I play the files (using Windows media player) the play time is usualy between one minuet and a minuet and a half. I relized there was something wrong with the file when I would let it play to the end, and I would still be hearing audio from the video I hadn't yet heard, and the picture because an evey so often change of one frame, picture after picture of what should be my movie. After further investigation I found that if I skip to 75% through the movie it would drop me at a part of the movie much farther in, and I hadn't viewed during the first minuets and a half of it. I belive I have the latest version of Wm player so I don't know what to do. I'm willing to try anything because I have 30+ files that are all like this that I would love to be able to salvage. Please, if you don't mind, either post a reply (or preferably) email me at [email]*****

Sounds like a codec problem. May I suggest a different player? VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) has in-built codecs & is generally very reliable.

thanks, ill try that one, but do you think the limewire player is better or worse than VLC?

The limewire player can only play music. VLC can play both audio & video.
